I have been fiddling with the piano part of this song since the 1980s, but only got around to writing lyrics in 2011. The video is made my inserting video clips of me "playing" various instruments behind a photograph of a band (I think it's probably Steely Dan) playing in some venue, but with all the actual band members deleted — thank you Photoshop. I didn't have a real electric bass (I play the bass line in the recording on my midi keyboard), so I borrowed a photo of a bass, and animated the arm of the person who introduces the song with the British accent who complains about the current popular status of the guitar. I don't have a drum kit either, but I had some sticks, so my drum-playing persona is just beating the sticks in thin air, and then inserted behind Steely Dan's drum kit in the photo.
You Baby

1. Feeling so low but someone pulled me through
Could have been anyone but now I know it's
You baby you baby you
2. Tried to pretend but I didn't have a clue
Could have been anything but in the end it's
You baby you baby you
[Bridge] And I'm standing in the rain watching you
Cause we've been this way before
And I don't know what to say anymore
[Instrumental verse] [Bridge]
3. Flew free and clear from Paris to Peru
Could have been anywhere but now I'm here with
You baby you baby you
